- Abstract
The article offers information on Aaptosyax grypus, a unique cyprinid fish from Khong Chiam and Khone Falls, Laos. It describes the mouth parts, weberian ossicles, filamentous bones and pharyngeal teeth of the Aaptosyax grypus. The molecular data for Aaptosyax grypus is said to be a mitochondrial cytochrome b sequence. The authors note that Aaptosyax grypus is relevant to the study of the morphological and functional character evolution of cyprinid fishes.
