- Abstract
The article reports on the updated recommendation from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) for the control of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceai in acute care facilities. An aggressive infection control strategy on patients with CRE using contact precautions is recommended. It suggests that the hospitals' problem of allocating additional resources for CRE prevention and control is balanced by an opportunity to limit the impact of the difficult pathogens.
