- Abstract
This article discusses the use of chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to study tissue microenvironments, evaluate tissue metabolism, and detect tumors or other pathological conditions. Specifically, the article focuses on the use of CEST MRI to assess rabbit skeletal muscle energy metabolism. The study found that the ischemic muscle showed a significant increase in CrCEST and a decrease in PCrCEST signals, indicating disruptions in muscle metabolism. However, further research and validation studies are needed to confirm the effectiveness of this method in various conditions and pathologies.
