- Abstract
For the comprehensive utilization of municipal sludge, the old corrugated container (OCC) is refined with a PFI refiner, and the parameters such as the length, width and topography of the OCC fiber are analyzed. The effects of fiber length and addition amount on the performance of sludge-based architectural coatings are studied. The results show that the optimal fiber refining treatment speed is 3000 r/min and the addition amount is 1.0% (relative to the dry sludge). The quality properties such as viscosity and surface tension of the coating products after the addition of OCC fibers decreased, and the thixotropic index shows a downward trend. There are no adverse effects on other application properties such as water permeability, water resistance and alkali resistance of the coatings, at the same time, its hardness reaches 4H, and the adhesion is grade 0. The content of harmful substances such as volatile organic compounds and heavy metals in sludgebased architectural coatings meets the requirements of national standard GB 24408-2009.
