- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the toxicity of essential oils from 17 plants against the Choristoneura (C.) rosaceana and Trichoplusia (T.) ni. The study made use of Polysorbate 80 as an emulsifier and tested the essential oils against C. rosaceana and T. ni with Polysorbate 80. Results indicate that garlic oil is the most toxic oil to T. ni larvae and patchouli oil to C. rosaceana larvae. It concluded that essential oils have value to be considered as components of insecticides.
