- Abstract
The nurse's approach in wound treatment, essential care steps according to the Federal Nursing Council Resolution 501/2015, gains prominence with the introduction of laser therapy. This study reviews pertinent literature, covering nine publications from 2016 to 2023, found in the SCIELO, LILACS, BDENF, and PUBMED databases. The analysis reveals that laser therapy, besides being a non-invasive and painless intervention, promotes significant improvements in healing, reducing discomforts, and accelerating inflammatory processes. The nurse's role is crucial in this context, as they assume responsibility from treatment selection to care execution. The results point to an improvement in the quality of care provided, with wound size reduction and healing time optimization. However, the need for a deep understanding of laser therapy mechanisms to ensure therapeutic success is emphasized. This study reinforces the effectiveness of laser therapy as a valuable adjunct tool in the nurse's therapeutic arsenal in treating wounds in stages I and II.
