- Abstract
This article discusses a rare case of Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD) with gluteal myositis. KFD is a self-limiting disease characterized by fever and cervical lymphadenopathy, but in this case, the patient presented with persistent fever and right hip pain. The article explores possible mechanisms for the association between KFD and gluteal myositis, including concomitant infective myositis, autoimmune disease-related myositis, and extranodal involvement. The authors emphasize the importance of considering KFD in patients with unknown fever origins, even if the clinical findings appear unrelated to KFD.
