- Abstract
The article reports on the death of Peter Paul Canisius, a former professor and director of the Federal Highway Research Institute in Bergisch Gladbach. Canisius was the president of the German Society for Documentation and Information (DGD) from 1978 to 1987 and advocated for international cooperation and the maintenance of international relations during his tenure. He also served in various international professional committees and received several awards for his work. After his retirement, he dedicated himself to volunteer activities and was involved in promoting friendliness towards foreigners in Cologne. The German Society for Information and Knowledge (DGI) mourns the loss of its honorary member.
