- Abstract
The article presents information about Wendell R. Smith, who has been employed as a marketing professor, marketing consultant, and corporate executive, apart from serving as President of the Marketing Science Institute. Smith's early employment in his family's shoe store is discussed, as well as his entrance into the field of marketing consultancy at the behest of Wroe Alderson, joining the marketing-consulting organization Alderson & Sessions. Details related to his service in the American Marketing Association, his election to its Presidency, and time spent in executive positions at the Radio Corporation of America (RCA).
