- Abstract
The experiment was to explore the types of bait suitable for abalone farming in Tianjin. A total of 960 wrinkled abalone were randomly divided into seven groups, and fed with salted asparagus, salted kelp, salted wakame, dried kelp, dried wakame, dried seaweed and compound feed, respectively. The morphology and retention of the bait foam were observed, and the effect of feeding different baits on shell length and weight growth, mortality, water quality and nutrition of the wrinkle disc abalone foot muscle after two months of feeding were studied. The trial period was two months. The results showed that dried seaweed floating phenomenon was the most serious, and other bait group had good ups and downs. Feeding compound feed (the average shell length of wrinkled abalone was 5.65 cm, and the average body weight was 30.7 g) and salted asparagus (the abalone had higher protein content in foot muscle nutrients) had the best effect. Mortality and ammonia nitrogen and nitrite content were the highest in those fed compound feed. The study indicates that the compound of feed and salted asparagus can increase shell length and body weight and reduce mortality of abalone.
