- Abstract
The article discusses the need for expanding the notion of building performance by having an integrated strategy for improved land-use planning and physical resilience, as well as design and operation strategies to ensure minimal functioning and habitability of buildings during natural disasters. It discusses resiliency co-benefits of building energy performance technologies like spray-foam insulation, and need to improve energy-environmental performance and disaster-resilience of buildings.
