- Abstract
The content of hydroquinone in the cosmetic sample for international proficiency testing was determined with the method of high performance liquid chromatography as described in "Safety and Technical Standards for Cosmetics" (2015 edition), and the uncertainty was evaluated. According to JJF 1059.1-2012 "Evaluation and Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement", a mathematical model of metrology for the determination of hydroquinone in cosmetics was established. The source of uncertainty was investigated, and the combined standard uncertainty and expanded uncertainty were calculated. The results showed that when the confidence interval was 95%, coverage factor k = 2, the content of hydroquinone in the sample was 1.31%, and the standard expanded uncertainty was 0.04%. Finally, the main sources of uncertainty were the concentration of the sample and the volume of sample solutions. Suggestions for improvement were put forward for the experimental operation.
