- Abstract
Fruit farming in Campeche, México, is an important activity, both in plantations and in backyard gardens. Results from the management of different fruit trees are presented, modifying topological distribution systems and plant height to improve their management (practical and efficient). High-density fruit tree plantations were evaluated, to optimize cultivation spaces, planting a higher number of trees per hectare, and getting production in less time. The evaluation included the production of high-density plantations of guanábana (Annona muricata L.), mamey sapote (Pouteria sapota), cashew (Anacardium occidentale), 'Tommy Atkins' and 'Ataulfo' mangoes (Mangifera indica) and Persian lime (Citrus latifolia), versus yields of the same fruit trees established traditionally. The results obtained indicate that the production in highdensity plantations was 400 % higher in guanábana, 10% in mamey sapote, 30% more in cashew, 35.5%, 34.7% in 'Tommy Atkins' and 'Ataulfo' mangoes, respectively, and 671% more in Persian lime.
