On Poetry and Collaboration in the Nineteenth Century.
- Authors
Whidden, Seth
- Abstract
The article proposes a new model for considering literary collaboration, in 19th century French poetry and beyond. Wayne Koestenbaum's "Double Talk: The Erotics of Male Literary Collaboration" is the most important study of collaborative literature. Meanwhile, texts from the "Album zutique" reside outside Koestenbaum's useful but limited definition. Moreover, his insistence on two writers producing one text stops short of the enhanced richness of many of the poems in the Album zutique.
