- Abstract
The main aim of this study is to assess the academic achievement statuses of third grade students according to various variables. The study has been conducted using the relational screening model. The universe of the research is formed by the students of teacher education for primary school programme at Fırat University. The collected data are analyzed according to clustering, log-square, correlation and regression analysis. According to the findings of the research, there is a significant link between friendship relations and academic achievement. It has been determined that the courses having the greatest effect upon the achievement averages of students of the programme in question are sociology, art education and written expression courses, respectively. The fact that participants consist of third-year students has led to concerns that a deliberative distribution of courses may not have been achieved in terms of assuming a professional identity. It is therefore suggested that vocational courses may be offered beginning from earlier grades.
