- Abstract
The article offers information information on development of basal insulin in an attempt to delay and prolong insulin absorption from subcutaneous tissues through the addition of protamine. It mentions use of Recombinant DNA technology for development of insulin that matches with the molecular structure of endogenously secreted insulin. It also describes the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of new basal insulin analogs including IGlar U-300 and insulin degludec (IDeg) U-100 and U-200.
