The article analyzes the basis of the opposition between science as a system and the postmodernist critique. The author cites the reasons postmodernism cannot really reach scientists. He defines postmodernism as a very loose and weakly policed network of antifoundationalist and antirepresentationalist criticisms of Enlightenment rationalism. He also discusses the role of reasons and evidence in science.
