- Abstract
The authors reflect on the role of glucagon in the regulation of glucose homeostasis. They state that the glucagon increased the hepatic glucose production to prevent hypoglycaemia in times of fasting as well as distribute glucose to working muscles when doing exercise. They mention that the glucagon plays a significant role in the counterregulatory response to hypoglycaemia. They relate that the changes in glucagon secretion was brought by the variations in blood glucose level.
