- Abstract
This paper presents educators' and administrators' perceptions of their experience in leading a writing and reading discovery program (Éveil à la lecture et à l'écriture, ÉLÉ) with kindergarten-aged children, in disadvantaged communities' within-school childcare services. Furthermore, the program's impact on educators' and administrators' professional development has been explored with qualitative data. The results indicate that participation in this ÉLÉ program has augmented self-efficacy among educators and administrators who integrated new knowledge in their practice. Emerging from this research are suggestions aiming to improve those professionals' training.
