- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 27-year-old man who had extensive cutaneous lesions in paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) which was successfully treated with itraconazole and β-glucan. The cause of PCM, a chronic granulomatous mycosis, is the fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis. The need for physicians to be aware of the main cutaneous and oral signs and symptoms of disease is emphasized.
