- Authors
Berghoff, Hartmut; Kolbow, Berti
- Abstract
The article discusses the growth strategies of the Agfa division of the firm IG Farben during the years of National Socialism (Nazism) in Germany. As a leading producer of photographic supplies and equipment, Agfa marketed its consumer wares highly successfully in the economic environment created by the Nazis in a surge of war matériel production. The author investigates the importance of such popular consumption of goods related to leisure and travel promotions during the Third Reich era, during which the regime encouraged mass amateur photography.
