- Title
The Importance of Meaning.
- Authors
Vaughan, Roger D.
- Abstract
The article considers the power of statistics and their capability of being meaningful. Understanding population parameter's difference with estimates of population parameters through regression will provide meaningful statistics. The author's main point seems to be that increasing sample size will help provide meaningful statistics. The author makes reference to Frank Yates' comments on formal tests of significance and their potential for attracting undue attention to results. A cartoon is included and discussed that addresses statistical significance.
