CHAPTER 3: The Rise of the Philosophy of Life.
- Authors
Strakhov, Nikolay; Tolstoy, Lev
- Abstract
The article discusses that during the second half of the 19th century, Russian writers Fyodor Dostoevsky and Leo Tolstoy became the spiritual organizers of a nascent religious explosion. The philosopher Nikolay Nikolayevich Strakhov was an important mediating figure between these two writers early in their careers and was destined to play a significant role in their lives. Strakhov and Dostoevsky share the premise of Christian anthropology that God's likeness is inherent in every person.
