- Abstract
The article analyzes the travels of French painter and author Jacques Monory in the United States and the relation which exists between these trips and his pictorial productions. The author organizes Monory's travels into four stages including pre-travel such as the traveler's motivations and preparations, the trip itself, the author's travel story, and the story's reception by the public, the critics, and the publishers.
