Native copper socketed hammers and percussion inserts have been observed in copper artifact collections from around the Lake Superior basin. These tools were replicated and demonstrated to be highly effective as percussion flintknapping tools. A set of percussion tools is described that is analogous to previously described pressure flaking inserts and socketed pressure flaking tools.
