- Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the North American responses to cyberbullying under the theory of systemic desensitization. Topics include one of the earliest cyberbullying victims in North America stated to be Ryan Halligan, who died by suicide in 2003 after being tormented with homophobic instant messages, and the process of systematic desensitization as followed by parents, educators and the government.
