- Title
When and how to manage enteral feeding intolerance?
- Authors
Arabi, Yaseen M.; Reintam Blaser, Annika; Preiser, Jean-Charles
- Abstract
The article comments on the study by Heyland et al that compared the outcomes between ulimorelin with metoclopramide feeding protocols on patients with enteral feeding intolerance (EFI). Findings showed no differences between ulimorelin and metoclopramide endpoints of daily protein prescription but highlighted the need for harmonizing guidance as to the use of prokinetic agents. Essential to this guide is identifying indications for prokinetic treatments and clear definition of EFI.
