- Abstract
This article will question the relevance of analyzing phenomena such as cooking from two separate concepts, nature and culture. For this purpose, it is going to be analyzed the relationships between the cultural and environmental factors that give life to three representative preparations of Isla Fuerte, the Colombian Caribbean. According to the analysis, it is proposed to nourish the debate on overcoming the dualism between these concepts. Specifically, in relation to the different and complex articulations between social and ecological realities necessary for obtaining the ingredients of the dishes and the conservation of culinary practices and the necessary knowledge for such preparations. In this way, it is intended to open new frontiers for interaction between social disciplines and natural sciences that create new perspectives for analysis and debate on the role of cooking in our culture, among other social elements necessary to be analyzed.
