- Title
Balancing Free Trade with International Security: What Every Alabama Attorney Should Know about International Trade Controls.
- Authors
Enslen, Alan F.; Coleman, Bryan A.; Newton, David T.
- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. international trade controls suitable for both commercial and defense industries that provide a compliant framework to execute free trade under internationally secured provisions. Exports are conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) which performs under the U.S. Export Administration Act of 1979 (EAA). It concludes that the controls norms should not be restricted to a controlled area and implemented to full spectrum.
