- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the Utah War of 1857-1858, an armed confrontation between Mormon settlers in the Utah territory led by Governor Brigham Young, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and U.S. President James Buchanan administration over the lore of trails and exploration. Particular focus is given on the launch of the Move South, an offensive attack against the army at Fort Bridger and Fort laramie, Nebraska Territory.
