GÄRTNER, TERESA
- Abstract
The article considers theoretical and methodological implications of the use of non-textual source materials in historiography, focusing in particular on maps. The author discusses the political aspects of cartography, the problem of objectivity in geographic representation, and deconstruction as a methodological approach. Her reflections are illustrated with the example of the representation of the developing countries of the Non-Aligned Movement in German atlases and its implications for interpretations of globalization.
