- Title
SLAVERY IN THE 21ST CENTURY AND IN NEW YORK: WHAT HAS THE STATE'S LEGISLATURE DONE?
- Authors
Hogan, Kathleen K.
- Abstract
The author examines the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed anti-trafficking statute and other past statutory proposals that have come from the New York State legislature, particularly in comparison with anti-trafficking laws in other states. The author recommends that the state approach the fight against human trafficking on legal, public, and societal levels. She emphasizes the importance of New York residents being aware of human trafficking in the region so they can actively participate in the fight against it.
