- Abstract
The article discusses natural law and describes the situations in which law or its enforcement is absent. It explains how despite absent-law situations dependence on social order and cooperation existed in a group's commitment to justice. It highlights the implications that social cooperation and justice in the absence of law have on different areas of modern criminal justice system including jury sentencing, fairness in criminal adjudication procedures, and crime-control policy.
