- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the effect of SARS-CoV-2 on lung cell senescence. Topics include older age as a major risk factor for severe coronavirus disease, role of cell senescence in age-associated lung diseases, and persistence of senescent cells in the lungs over time. A causal relationship between endothelial cell (EC) senescence and vascular thrombosis is also noted.
