- Abstract
The article focuses on the effectiveness of prophylactic use of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) oxygen therapy and noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) in preventing reintubation in patients with acute brain injury (ABI). Topics include the study findings that do not support the prophylactic use of HFNC and NIPPV, the heterogeneity among patients with ABI in their response to these therapies, and specific patient subgroups.
