- Abstract
Additionally, we believed this patient also had sectorial ischaemic optic neuropathy (ION) on account of the optic disk swelling in the colour fundus picture shown in Figure 1A of our original report. Though there were none of the typical retinal haemorrhages or cotton wool spots, we did find enlarged diameter of the abovementioned retinal veins and more tortuous veins in the left eye, compared to the right eye (Figure). According to Dr Au's letter, typical pictures of retinal vein occlusion (RVO) should present retinal haemorrhage, enlarged retinal vein calibre, tortuous veins and occasionally cotton wool spots.
