- Abstract
The article describes the computed tomography (CT) features of cherubism in a 14-year old girl. A CT scan of the girl's jaw revealed an expansile remodeling of the maxilla and the mandible, with a mildly sclerotic matrix and internal trabeculations, inducing obliteration of the maxillary antrum, with extension to the orbital floor, and consequent bilateral proptosis. Cherubism is defined as an inherited, fibroosseous condition characterized by firm, painless swelling of the jaw.
