- Abstract
The article looks at the biometric technologies used in several U.S. cities to increase efficiency and save money. Tahlequah, a city in Oklahoma, uses Schlage HandPunch 3000 terminals to record employee handprints. The HandPunch 3000 uses software from NOVAtime to access data and see who is clocked in or out and for how long. California's San Bernardino County deployed a fingerprint-reading technology from Digital Persona to streamline the work at the Auditor Controller-Recorder Department.
