- Abstract
The article presents the amendment proposal from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reconcile conflicting interest in plant-based meat labeling. Topics discussed are commercial speech and the First Amendment, early attacks against dairy alternatives, dairy alternative lawsuits, dairy product labeling, legislation regulating plant-based meat in several U.S. states, separate regulation for plant-based food, and traditional meat terms with plant-based modifiers, and vegan terminology.
