- Abstract
Twentieth century is an era of technology; use of computer brought tremendous change in every field of life. Advancement in Information & technology has reshaped an environment of Electronic information formats which changed storage & retrieval methods of Information. Technology obsolescence overtook many library buildings less than a decade ago, as campuses created their own networked environments and aspired to give their students ubiquitous access to computers. When they could no longer defer the decision to build a new, an important strategic question arose: How will a new library add value to the educational enterprise and reinforce campus- based learning? To design and build a library these days is in fact to re-think the entire educational mission, at least in part with the aim of integrating new technologies that allow digital resources to supplement and expand the library's traditional print holdings.5.Library users are no longer obliged to visit the library to meet all their information needs. They may search the library's online catalogue; use a subject guide or database to access a citation from the internet or access a full text article from web- base journal; they may browse an electronic journal; fill out an interlibrary form's-mail a reference question via the ask-a-librarian service or borrow an c-book-all by remote access.
