- Abstract
The article critiques the aesthetic and mimetic rhythms in the versification of poets George Gascoigne, Sir Philip Sidney and Edmund Spenser in Renaissance English poetry. It explores the contribution of Gascoigne to the history of English verse. It explores the poems "Certayne Notes," by Gascoigne, "Astrophil and Stella," by Sidney, and "Amoretti," by Spencer.
