- Authors
Montelongo, José A.; Hernández, Anita C.
- Abstract
This article describes a variation of the sentence completion task that may be used to reinforce students' reading, writing and higher order categorization skills to prepare them in dealing with the different types of textbook structures. The different types of expository structures include descriptive, comparison and contrast, sequence, and cause and effect. A chart is presented that lists several examples of the different types of text structures. The procedure for introducing the modified sentence completion task is described.
