- Title
AGGREGATE GRADING STUDIES PUBLISHED.
- Abstract
The article presents an overview on the two research on aggregate grading published by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) in the U.S. The two studies entitled "Effect of Continuous (Well-Graded) Combined Aggregate Grading on Concrete Performance Phase A: Aggregate Voids Content (Packing Density) and "Phase B. Concrete Performance" was conducted over two and one-half year at the NRMCA laboratory in College Park, Maryland. The studies revealed that the use of well-graded combined aggregates did not lead to lower water demand, shrinkage and bleeding. Moreover, the research offered a procedure for readers to develop their own aggregate grading study program with local materials.
