- Abstract
A letter to the editor of Acta Neurochirurgica discusses the use of flexible endoscopes to aspirate intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) and other lesions. The author commends a recent technique described by Yamashiro et al. that uses an angiographic catheter in combination with a flexible endoscope to aspirate IVH, as it provides a clearer surgical view. However, the author suggests that transaqueductal navigation of the IV ventricle remains the safest method for aspirating clots, especially in cases of IVH. The author also highlights the challenges faced by surgeons in developing new instruments for ventricular neuroendoscopy due to strict regulations and limited support. Nonetheless, the author emphasizes the importance of ventricular neuroendoscopy in effectively and minimally invasively treating patients.
