- Abstract
The article presents a study on the inducibility concentration of cytochrome P-450 in the wild cotton rats' livers after intraperitoneal (ip) administration of 3-methylcholanthrene and phenobarbital. The study measured the livers from both the treated and controlled rats and assayed the levels of total cytochrome P-450. The study suggests that the genetic differences in the induction capacity of cytochrome P-450 can result to differences in the xenobiotic metabolism.
