- Abstract
With the objective of identifying the social representations of the teachers of "Institución Universitaria de Envigado" about inclusive education, this study was carried out with a qualitative approach, of a descriptive type and phenomenological design. A population sample of 27 career teachers was used to collect information through a questionnaire submitted to expert evaluation and structured around four categories: 1) knowledge about inclusive education; 2) implementation of strategies in the classroom; 3) attitudes in the formative spaces; 4) diversity perception. The results indicate dominant conceptions framed in three approaches: law, differential and political. The proposal to adopt better strategies in student-teacher relations prevails and positive attitudes towards inclusive processes are highlighted among teachers. It is concluded that it is necessary to emphasize and to formalize socialization spaces to relativize the perception, the role, and pedagogical practices, and produce effective decisions and strategies towards inclusive education.
