- Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the reality of retirement age problems from the perspective of the participants of the Gaza City Association for Retired Employees.The researcher used the descriptive method with a sample of "33" retired staff members who were interviewed in depth. - There are no significant economic problems in the sample, with 45.5% being in good economic condition and 39.4% being in acceptable economic condition. This indicates that the living situation of retirees is good because they receive continuous monthly pensions that protect them from social need. - 54.5% of the sample were in acceptable healthy, 3% were in a good healthy and 42.4% had illnesses, which in turn affected their social performance. - 93.3% of the sample had nothing to do with their spare time after retirement and 6.1% had little volunteer work in the Association of Retired Employees. - 45% of the sample had a sense of comfort and adaptability after the retirement, but 30.3% did not. This indicates that, this proportion has some degree of suffering because of the break from work. - 50% of the sample affected by their relationship with friends and 36.4% had difficulty establishing relationships after retirement, and 15.1% confirmed that there were no mating with coworkers. - The Association of Retired Employees is instrumental in alleviating the problems, 75.7% of the sample has a sense of happiness because of joining the Association. This highlights the role of open social associations and clubs in providing various aspects of care to retirees.
