- Abstract
The article discusses the case of a 37-year-old man experiencing intravitreal intrusion of an intrascleral Medical Instruments Research Associates (MIRA)gel buckling implant. He was taken to the hospital because of abrupt visual field loss. The medical procedures performed on the patient included slit-lamp examination and fundus examination. Intrusion complications are said to be more likely to develop when MIRAgel is used as an intrascleral buckling material because of the thinner scleral wall under the buckle and because of its expansive nature.
