- Abstract
The importance of the digital society is increasing, and mathematics plays an important role in various areas. Mathematical models and methods are used to better understand society and individuals. However, there are challenges and controversies in the application of mathematical knowledge, especially in relation to artificial intelligence. Mathematical science communication can help improve the conditions for a reflective and inclusive societal debate on the use of digital technologies. Various models of science communication are discussed, including the dialogue model and the participation model. Various forms and examples of mathematical science communication in the context of digital transformation are also highlighted. It is emphasized that mathematical science communication must not only convey skills in mathematical work or explain mathematical objects, but also has an important function in explaining assumptions and highlighting limitations.
