- Abstract
The article examines the collaborative alternatives for independent music producers of indigenous content to cultivate beneficial relationship with copyright stakeholders. It explains the challenges presented by inexpensive and easy-to-use digital audio technologies, such as indigenous mash-up culture of infringement, to copyright owner. It also discusses the proposal of embracing mash-up culture and building up the underground artist to become a stakeholder with an incentive to negotiation.
